Jads Spotlight Feature

According to the U.S. Census Bureau there were approximately 73.8 million youth under 18 years of age in this country
, and in 2009, there were more than 1.5 million cases of juvenile delinquency. It is no secret that parents are the single
most important influence on a child development, and it is for this reason we encourage parents to stay involved. In 2008
, it was estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau that over 60% of children in this country witnessed violence. This disturbing
trend is a contributing factor to children acting out and becoming delinquent.Young people are full of imagination,
ingenuity and promise. That is why it is so necessary to harness these invaluable attributes early. Cuyahoga Community
College is doing just that with a program specifically designed to cultivate professional skills in young people. It is
for this reason Cuyahoga Community College receives the JADS Spotlight Feature of the Month. Youth who enroll in this
program have an extraordinary opportunity to experience college-life while at the same time challenging their minds
with college-level course work. For more information click on the Cuyahoga Community College link above.
